5-Star Reviews for 12 PILLS

"Thrilling Reading" by John L.

"Guessing until the end!" by William J. Pyffer

"An Against the clock Thriller" by Kim

EXCERPT FROM REVIEW:

The suspense built until it almost exploded like a firecracker, along with the continued frustration of the two agents to stop murder after murder from occurring, even as they thought they had the case all figured out. I enjoyed the back-and-forth dialog between the two agents as they both attempted to keep their personal and work life separate which did result in several lighter-toned moments which gave the book a break from being too dark.

My first time reading this author - and it won't be the last. I love everything about this book, and if you are a thriller lover, you will too. The writing is clean and careful. The characters are well developed and believable and help you engage in the plot that is one of my favorites - a race against the clock. The reader inexorably drawn into the plot, which is well balanced with action and dialogue, and tempted to try to put it altogether. A task at which I was not successful. Why don't you give it a try?

Now to start I expected some murder mystery about a drug ring exploiting drugs—all I can say is WOW! I was totally hooked from the first few pages. Nothing to do with a drug ring at all. I kept going back and forth over who the killer was and didn’t know until near the end. Best suspense mystery type book I have read in years. If this is you kind of genre you won’t go wrong with this novel!

While there are definitely some mystery involved, the characters make this story. They are rich and well written.

5-Star Reviews for EDDIE MORRISON!

"Rapid-fire pace . . . and whoa, this KID!" by JC Paulson

"Rapid-fire pace . . . and whoa, this KID!" by JC Paulson

"Rapid-fire pace . . . and whoa, this KID!" by JC Paulson

EXCERPT FROM REVIEW:

The most brilliant part of this book is the effect of the kidnapping, and all the horrific things that follow, on the kid himself. Connor is beautifully drawn. His situation and his reactions to it are moving, varied, and change sensibly with events and the length of time he spends with his captor. I found my heart breaking for this innocent victim, while my sympathy and understanding widened for the after-effects survivors of crime must deal with.
This is so well done in Eddie Morrison.
The book has a rapid-fire pace shot through with high-intensity scenes that will keep those pages turning. Great read.

"Rapid-fire pace . . . and whoa, this KID!" by JC Paulson

   EXCERPT FROM REVIEW:

Coming off the last book, Murder at Parkmoor, also brilliant, this one picked up the pace like a lightning bolt. The bad guy has Agent Whelan's son, and the hunt goes all over the country. I loved the relationships in this one--Father to son and son to kidnapper.

Very intriguing!
Whelan's son completely made this book so engaging. He's beautifully developed and written so genuinely that my heart broke multiple times. This book is a wonderful study in the horrors of mental torture on a kidnapping victim. And Eddie is so evil and twisted, I wasn't sure if I wanted to despise him or just sit back and appreciate how the author balanced his lack of humanity with his insecurities and unexpressed but clear need for companionship.

"Fast paced and thrilling!" by Lavendar Lilly

"Rapid-fire pace . . . and whoa, this KID!" by JC Paulson

"Fast paced and thrilling!" by Lavendar Lilly

 EXCERPT FROM REVIEW:

This novel works well as a stand-alone novel and as the third book of a trilogy. Burris writes fast-paced thrillers that pull readers in from the first moment, and his world building is just as gritty as his criminals and heroes. As such, I was engaged from the first page.

I also appreciate how the author crafts realistic characters. His hero, Whelan, is competent but also human—someone readers can relate to. That said, the primary villain in this story is really villainous, for lack of a better word. The protagonist/antagonist dynamic fuels the action well. I enjoyed the twists, too! Be prepared for MANY surprises!

Fans of crime novels, mysteries, and thrillers will likely enjoy the Agent Whelan series. I highly recommend these books for fans of these genres!
